Starbucks Philippines proudly announces the opening of its first two Greener Stores, marking a milestone in the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability. With this, Starbucks Philippines joins Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam as pioneers in the Asia Pacific region to accelerate the transformation of retail towards lower-impact stores that achieve reductions in carbon emissions, water usage, and landfill waste. Situated in the heart of Makati, these Greener Stores were meticulously built to reduce environmental impact.
The Shops at Ayala Triangle Gardens and One Ayala Greener Stores adhere to the Starbucks Greener Store Framework through more efficient use of resources. These stores incorporate sustainability measures, including improved water management through efficient time-out faucets. Additionally, 100% LED lighting ensures energy efficiency, while advancements in air conditioning technology reduce energy consumption compared to previous installations. To further reduce their environmental footprint, the stores prioritize the use of responsible materials in their construction.
“We’re thrilled to open our first two Greener Stores in the Philippines, a key step towards reaching our company’s ambitious resource-positive goals. This is a testament to our passion for sustainability that continues to drive our innovation,” said Noey Lopez, Starbucks Philippines president.
