The Philippine Retailers Association (PRA), the premier national organization for retailers and suppliers, is marking a significant milestone with the 30th edition of its flagship event—the National Retail Conference and Expo (NRCE) 2024.
Scheduled for August 29-30 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, this event promises to be a game-changer for the retail industry. The NRCE 2024 will feature enlightening sessions from top-tier speakers across various sectors and showcase a world-class exhibition through its twin event, Retail Solutions Asia. This 30th edition is set to be a pivotal moment, blending decades of retail excellence with cutting-edge innovations.
For three decades, the NRCE has served as a vital platform for industry professionals seeking the latest insights, trends, and strategies. This year’s theme, “Retail Today, Empowering Tomorrow,” underscores a commitment to proactive innovation and cross-generational learning. The conference aims to not just prepare for the future but actively shape it, crafting a dynamic playbook that revitalizes the industry and enhances both business and customer experiences.
The 30th NRCE will kick off with a keynote address by Secretary Frederick D. Go, Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs. His insights on the Philippine economy and government initiatives will provide invaluable guidance on fostering growth and supporting the retail sector’s development, crucial for sustaining economic drive and enhancing competitiveness.
Day two will feature a compelling special session with Hans Sy, Chairman of the Executive Committee of SM Prime Holdings, and Hans “Chico” Sy, Jr., President for SM Engineering Design & Development (SMEDD) Corp. Their talk, “Legacy of Guidance: How My Father Shaped My Life,” will explore the profound impact of paternal mentorship, providing a narrative full with timeless wisdom and invaluable life lessons.
The conference will conclude with an inspiring address by Eugene Acevedo, President and CEO of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC). Known for his transformative leadership and commitment to education and inclusivity, Mr. Acevedo will share his vision for the future of banking, demonstrating how RCBC’s success is intertwined with his advocacy for equal opportunity and talent development.
In alignment with its commitment to sustainability, the PRA through the NRCE will also feature a special segment titled “Retail Voices Championing Sustainability,” led by Anna Lagon, CEO and CCO of Bayo Manila and PRA’s Chairwoman for Sustainability. This session will highlight the role of retail leaders in driving positive environmental change and encourage businesses to adopt sustainable practices.
The NRCE is more than just an event; it is a dynamic community where retailers and suppliers connect, collaborate, and showcase new products and services. The Retail Solutions Asia will provide tailored solutions to address diverse business needs, further advancing global competitiveness.
As we celebrate this 30th anniversary, we invite you to be part of this transformative experience. Join us to explore the future of retail, gain valuable insights, and connect with industry leaders as we craft the next chapter in retail innovation.
