In the midst of a crisis, many of us wouldn’t even consider sticking to our original plans. Instead, we may become disheartened and simply wait for another opportunity to come our way. However, it’s important to note that this applies to “most” of us, not all of us.
With that said, the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) is set to demonstrate how one can turn the odds in their favor and weather a perfect storm, ultimately leading to brighter days. This story will be featured in the latest episode of Let’s Talk Retail.
In the 38th episode of the series, Nishant D’Souza, Co-Founder and Chairman of edamama, will share the inspiring journey of how edamama evolved into the Philippines’ premier online-to-offline parenting platform. Nishant will also discuss the inspiration behind the project and the remarkable success they achieved, even in the midst of the global pandemic. “There are numerous factors to consider, but when you’re in the midst of it, you have to think on your feet,” he explained.
When asked about what motivated them to persevere through all the challenges they faced, Nishant emphasized, “Our people. It wasn’t just the two of us (and my wife) at that time. We had assembled a small team, and the livelihood of many depended on us. We felt a responsibility to both our team and our customers, and we were determined to take the plunge and see where it would lead us.”
Having secured over US$35 million in funding from prominent investors since its launch in 2020, edamama’s success highlights that not every challenge leads to setbacks; some challenges propel you to push your limits and embark on a remarkable journey, ultimately impacting the lives of many.
