The Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) expressed its strong support for the official launch of the Section G: Job Blueprint, a landmark initiative developed in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines (SCMAP), aimed at enhancing employment, uplifting Filipino brands and products, and strengthening competitiveness in the wholesale and retail trade sector.
The launch, scheduled on June 16, 2025, at SM North EDSA Annex, coincides with a two-day job fair featuring leading employers in retail, logistics, and supply chain. The initiative underscores the sector’s vital role in the national economy and its potential to drive more inclusive and sustainable growth.
PRA President Bobby Claudio underscored the value of the Blueprint in shaping the future of the industry through meaningful collaboration and workforce alignment: “The Section G: Job Blueprint comes at a pivotal time. It is not just a document, but the beginning of an ongoing effort to build a stronger, more responsive retail sector. By identifying key challenges and proposing actionable, data-informed solutions, it helps us move toward innovation, resilience, and competitiveness. We at the PRA are honored to support this multi-sectoral initiative that puts a spotlight on Filipino talent, Filipino products, and Filipino retail brands.”
Retail and trade account for nearly ₱4.9 trillion in GDP and employ over 10 million Filipinos, making them among the country’s most significant economic pillars. The Blueprint, shaped through extensive consultations and stakeholder engagement, marks the first national initiative of its kind focused on revitalizing this crucial sector and supporting its continuous development..
The PRA joins the DTI, SCMAP, and other industry players in celebrating this milestone, and commits to further collaboration in ensuring the blueprint’s effective rollout and long-term impact.
