Retail giant SM is expanding here and abroad and is keen on localizing its operations, according to its top executive.
According to SM Supermalls President Steven Tan, the company will open more malls this year given the growing interest in the Philippines as an investment destination.
“The Philippines is a sweet spot of Asia. I would say that because of our population—the new generation—is very young. He said SM will open malls in San Pedro, Laguna and Santo Tomas, Batangas.
Tan added that the company also plans to make its presence felt in some areas in Luzon and Mindanao.
